This judge, WTF?

we need to have more say in our judges, end lifetime appts, and a better standard of ethics and countability. Judges letting rapist walk away with sympathizing words and no sentencing, traitors doing less than the minimum and sympathetic words from the judge. What about America?
-
We’re battling enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC. These zealots and grifters have hijacked America. This isn’t what my people fought/served for. They didn’t fight for a white nationalist sociopathic driven agenda. Time for a correction.

Illustrates once again we do not have a justice system. We have a legal systems that benefits the oligarchy and puts the rest of us in jail.
-
You can not use the term "oligarch" the judge admonished for this smdh
-
Yep, judge told prosecutor they could not use the term "oligarch" or any derivatives way back at beginning of trial, pretty much knew then where this judge was coming from
-
This allowed him to ignore the motive of the crime, owing oligarchs and gangsters huge sums of money. If someone did these crimes to pay for cancer treatment for a loved one, this would be an acceptable sentence, IMO.

Yes, it appears the scales of justice are considerably weighted towards rich, white males.https://twitter.com/thelastword/status/980142762048872449?s=21 …

Thank you for saying it because that is exactly what I was thinking. What if he was a poor black man with a toy gun? Would he been given 4 years or death?

You have been great about this tonight, Ari. Substantive, measured but impassioned where the story required it.
-
I thought so too

“An otherwise blameless life” is this simply a dog whistle and opening for Trump to pardon Manifort
-
Yes. Yes it is. Manafart will get rung up in SDNY after trump vacates both sentences.

I shop day old bread & produce & other cost saving lifestyle ways so 25% of my salary goes to taxes. Manafort gets 4 yrs for scheming & defrauding the govt millions of dollars taxes. Not a fair penalty. Different justice for the rich!
