Right, I think this is the role for foundations. But for every case like this, there are cases where somebody *does* want to direct funding, and could accomplish that through a full-time job paying a good wage, or hiring someone to do the work. These are part of sustainability.

iow, it's important for foundations to help facilitate money from companies with a desire to help but little idea (or ability to direct) *how*, but not drive away the idea of companies funding work directly through employment. L
