Kimberly Breier will be @StateDept’s next @WHAAsstSecty, according to @LatAmGoesGlobal. Since June, she has worked for State’s Policy Planning office (S/P, as it’s known in the building). Previously, she handled #LatinAmerica issues at the NSC, and worked at @CSISAmericas.
Secretary Tillerson’s February trip to #LatinAmerica, including #Mexico and #Argentina, should offer hints about Kimberly Breier’s priorities, as S/P has strong influence over the agenda and remarks.
If Kimberly Breier is indeed nominated, it’d be a feather in the cap for @GeorgetownCLAS, where she earned her Master’s. Arturo Valenzuela, a recent WHA assistant secretary, was a director at the same Georgetown @georgetownsfs program.
