Indeed, he dismissed the widespread belief that @CFKArgentina's potential return to the Casa Rosada was spooking investors, accusing President Mauricio Macri of an attempt to "desresponsabilizarse" for #Argentina's struggles by blaming "el gobierno siguiente." @mauriciomacri 2/
But Kicillof was relentlessly critical of Macri, saying the steep devaluation, modest market liberalization, high interest rates and utility price hikes "inevitablemente" brought high unemployment, increased inequality and soaring debt. 3/pic.twitter.com/Zf7WkMQjsk
These "Consenso de Washington" policies never succeed, Kicillof said at @TheWilsonCenter, and were particularly mistimed in an era of rising protectionism, which will complicate repayment of the government's "poco razonable" high dollar borrowing. 4/
Though he said "nadie quiere un default," he assailed #Argentina's @IMFNews bailout, pointedly describing it as a "préstamo a un gobierno" that had no hope of restoring economic growth. 5/

And his remarks about corruption and judicial independence likely did little to reassure observers concerned about democratic backsliding should Fernández de Kirchner return to office. 7/
