It's a little late, but thanks to Linux creator Linus Torvalds for 20 yrs of Linux. You would not have the internet as you know it, without him.

With all due respect,
#Linux just helped the market and not the Internet. Everyone knows if it was not for#BSD Linux would never exist.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

You didn't read the article? ..."I also think we should really thank the forefather of Unix and by relation, Linux “Ken Thompson” who essentially created the first version of Unix in 1969!" taken from my article

I did mate, but you didn’t get my point. The net itself has never been stoppable and even if Linux wasn’t around, it would be something like what it is at the moment and only trends would differ - it’s a long story but if interested, we can discuss.

I agree, it would be some form of Unix based, most likely BSD. But it's hard to say it would 'the same', the level of adoption grew a lot more because of Linux...I don't agree that it would just be a difference of trends...it could be an internet that was worse or better. Cheers

Technologies are defined owing to the requirements of the day. Operating Systems, Companies, Network Solutions and all other things just help shaping the future, but it’s the need defining the future. One works better and one worse, we choose which to pick. Cheers mate.

As I said, it could have been better or worse version of the net.
