Acting all smug while engaging in overtly pseudo-scientific practices may also play a role in the limited adoption of causal modelling by mainstream (read: actual) scientists.
In fact this entire post has a conspiratorial undertone and a disdain of "the mainstream" that are huge red flags for pseudo-scientific crankery.

I would like to believe that defenders of mainstream listen to me, not because I have an authority in any subject, but because my arguments for revitalizing mainstream make good sense and science would benefit from the revitalizatioin.
