I wish we could change the culture around tech, from escapism to augmentation; to make tech more useful & make ourselves better. To stop using tech as an escape & use it as the tool and resource it is.

I think there is a lot of space for both. It's okay to some times seek an escape from every day life, but I heavily agree that there could be so many other ways we could use tech to better ourselves with.That said, having seen consumerism's evolution as of late, makes me worried.

I totally get escapism, especially now! But I'd argue it isn't very helpful long-term. There's this tendency with tech (& many other things) to throw the baby out with the bathwater. If consumerism infringes on tech augmenting our lives we should regulate THAT, not the tech.
