Yup, that was called the Nokia Midas, however it was later scrapped in favour of the Nokia McLaren (which was cancelled altogether in the end).

In fact, only a handful of pieces of this technology was eventually built into the Lumia 950 and 950XL “Gestures” app. Definitely not the full futuristic experience, but small bits of it were there
