Just spoke with an engineer who claims they are working on the development of Apple Car’s UI. Although they weren’t able to elaborate much, they said that both iPhone and Apple Watch play a huge role in Apple Car’s functionality. #AppleInternal

I didn’t ask them, but I doubt that would be the case. I’m assuming it will be comparable to using AirPods with an Android device, meaning functionality is limited, but it would still work. This is just my prediction.
I agree! They wouldn’t want to lose all business from non iPhone users but can’t create right hardware integration with such a wide range of hardware like Android devices, so they include software to make it not intuitive but functional at the very least!
