Even then online queer groups are really common many of us seek them out before coming out to people irl. 2/2

Moreover, queer people gravitate towards queer people even when they're closeted. My friend circle is mostly queer women and that hasn't changed since I came out as trans
-
This!! Even when I was a child with no idea about lgbt identities, every one of my significant friends throughout childhood is now also queer. Fun how that works

I'm cis and straight, but one of my friend groups is basically entirely lgbt+. I don't get why people think it's rare to have friends in the community or people having only friends in it.
-
Same. Like alot of my friends are lgbtq+

Literally almost all my friends are grsm in some way. Also as someone who's been in both speech and theatre, a huge portion of those groups are grsm. Marginalized people tend to build/find communities, it's not that outlandish.

There's this thing I've observed about eg mass harassment of small trans memes where they know it's disproportionate, they know it doesn't affect them, and that's the point, overwhelming violence to silence and shut down any nascent suggestions of trans affirming culture
