      I just qualified for monetisation last week and I log on today and now I need to get 700 more subscribers and 3000 more hours of viewing :/

      I know you're not going to be making money off whatever videos you upload now, but were you making ANY money short of a couple dollars here and there - and is it worth quitting YT over?

      I wasn't ever making any money, it's just sad that you need 1000 subscribers to make money, it's not about the actual dollars it's more about the incentive-youtube are only recognising those above 1k subscribers regardless of content quality

      While I agree that you should be able to make money off of your content (regardless of what @TeamYouTube thinks) - I think this makes it more of a goal you want to reach. The only thing they "recognized" is that you'll make money after their pre-reqs. Right?

      it's also the fact that YouTube has sold out to the big companies, videos are sponsored content, clickbait or drama, whilst large corporations are always on the trending page? I thought it was about us, not companies who pay their way to the top and are rewarded for that

      I agree they've sold out, but they are a company. That was their plan in the beginning, like almost any person looking to monetize their passions. I think the term "sold out" is overused. If you monetized your videos haven't you "sold out" to YT? 🤔
