What's frustrating about Pete Rose being such a terrible human being: he wasn't just a good ballplayer; he was *admirable* as a ballplayer, a paragon of hustle, durability, consistency, endurance. He played more games than anyone, & played each one like he had money riding on it.

icwydt an quietly remarkable stat about Rose is that he made the All Star team for five (5) different positions - LF, RF, 1B, 2B, 3B. But you're right about Bench.
