It may evolve like the 4. Maybe. But yeah, more moving away from a centralised symbol to generic nothingness. Sigh.
And no symbol could easily replace the bladed 2, that thing had a massive, noisy, extroverted personality. They might regret literally going for "no symbol", though. If that's what they've done.
