Prototype Apple Lighting Cables (Proto 4 Stage) made on Week 49 of 2010. These cable where made well before Steve Jobs had actually left Apple (in 2011). The cable also has a little “(-)” symbol (on the lightning end) similar to what 30-pin connectors have. #appleinternalpic.twitter.com/05LqkSgKqX

Wonder why they still had the (-) symbol when that was mainly there to align the 30 pin connector upright.

Maybe they used an adapter to make them as unrecognizable as possible if leaked? Or maybe they didn't have dual-sided connections fully working yet so they had the indicator, not because it wouldn't physically fit, but because the data wouldn't transmit?
