This is a defect, I'd keep pushing for a replacement.
So I somehow managed to crack my Apple Watch Series 2 (Stainless Steel) all around the border of the watch face. There apparently is a replacement program for this exact issue, however I was denied service. Watch Face isn’t falling out yet, but goodbye water resistance.pic.twitter.com/lnZW5nglxk

Here in South Africa, since we don’t have official Apple stores, just Premium Resellers, usually an email from Apple support gets them to approve the repair. They wanted to charge me for the 2011 MBP GPU issue for example…

I experienced the same thing and there’s no official apple store in my country, only premium resellers, and they could only reject service for this matter, luckily I read an article from http://9to5mac.com and they said there’s this replacement program for 42 mm s2

I exchanged emails with Apple support through http://support.apple.com , the advisor emailed the authorized service provider who previously denied to replace my watch, and then I got a call from that service provider, asking me to bring my watch

There are people who repair this. You just need a new screen assembly but it will not be the fancy edition glass just regular one. Don’t worry.
