People are mad because some people are not as blessed and can’t repair it themselves. Some people don’t have an Apple store, and repair shops are having a harder and harder time to fix iPhones. Apple doesn’t repair. They just replace.

Apple has their refurbishment and renew program and they definitely recycle better than any random Joe can.
