Having included both of them in my books, I sympathize with your ambivalence. It's hard to separate the professional and the personal.

Can't say that I know them personally, but certainly their professional work. Both great writers. Sad that Kozinski's work, due to his own actions, now carries a big asterisk.

If you'd asked me a month ago if I would replace half the judges in the country with Kozinski clones, I'd have agreed to it.

I don't think it's fair to call Posner's exit "a disgrace." His rash behavior diminished his legacy but he didn't leave under a cloud of scandal

Disgrace may be strong. But it can be said that both left in ways that tarnished their entire careers.
