Someone asked me how to twitter positively: I said that I try to be better (more charitable/patient/careful, etc.) on twitter than IRL, and the platform's deficiencies balance that out a bit, and so I end up about the same. I don't always live up to that: but it's a start.

Extremely same. I am generally pretty cheerful IRL, but not quite this relentlessly so.

I don't see it so much as being MORE cheerful so much as broadcasting the cheerful part and keeping the not-cheerful parts to myself. (Or devastatingly witty DMs.)

Yeah, and you want to be genuine so it's a balancing act. Be thankful when appropriate, conversate and throw a little sarcastic wit in there too. Now that I think about it, it's amazing how much ends up getting DMed.

My DMs are a mix of things that are too nerdy to share in public, news-induced rage, and various combinations of "😂🤣☠️💀⚰️👻"

Too... nerdy to share in public? {checks my TL} I think I've been doing twitter wrong.

As the recipient of some of those DMs, you really should know better!

I mean. *I* didn't think they were nerdy at all!

I have to admit, now that I'm not practicing anymore and don't have law things to tweet about, I feel a bit adrift as to content here. I guess I'll just have to keep sharing all of the super nerdy things I love.

Please do! I love all your posts about knitting, reading, cooking, gardening, etc. & am excited to hear about your new teaching gig too, to the extent you're able to share things about it publicly.
