Ayla was a really important include to me, as with the rotation of Lumar cycle the game lacked a Muslim runner character entirely, a representation problem that was unreasonable if we wanted to continue to present a diverse slice of humanity as a whole.

Ayla did pose some issues however; her ID ability is unique and complicated in execution, so our rules team had to tackle the implementation and wording. Those familiar with Bios may mourn the lack of NVRAM here, and I do too, but I know it was done for a good reason.

Ayla offers a lot of potential to the care pool going forward, having been used for both combo and midrange decks in the past. Her ID is deceptively deep and powerful in the hands of a skilled player.

A final note, however. Recently
@WIRED published an article about Netrunner and NISEI, and a quote mentioned the original desire to depict her with her hijab worn. Sadly her art was completed well before we knew about this, and we kept her same style.http://www.wired.com/story/inclusive-cyberpunk-future-android-netrunner …Show this thread -
Thanks for joining me again! I’ll be back tomorrow with the Criminal runner Steve Cambridge!
