Obviously, there were more than a few teen girls forced to marry much-older men, but MOST couples were, on average, within 1-5 yrs of one another's age. Depending on the country & era, women could be as old as 26 on average.

Outside of the nobility & royalty, the American West & immediate post-Civil War era, & Renaissance in Italy, it was NOT normal or common for couples to have large (10+ yrs) age gaps. That would've made people talk.
