At this point the coverage of Kanye West is simply exploitative. He clearly has psychological problems. He’s said he’s made the decision not to take his meds. Filming and promoting someone’s breakdown for our own entertainment isn’t cool. Ye is not well. I hope he gets help.

Whether social media companies are owned privately or publicly, they need to be regulated. The threat they pose to privacy, the economy and national security require it, especially given the potential for foreign influence. It’s time the laws caught up with technology.
