When you read: Brain oscillations ‘‘form a hierarchical system that offers a syntactical structure for the spike traffic within and across circuits at multiple timescales’’ (Buzsaki et al., 2013). And react: 😮😲🤯

A classic effect in the sensorimotor cortex: event-related desynchronization. Strong mu-rhythm oscillations attenuate as soon as the participant starts to contract a muscle. Where do they go? 🧐

Today I attended the last lecture of my Research Master's. Prof. Peter de Weerd coordinated our first and last course. He gave us a warm "welcome" and an even nicer "goodbye". So thankful of being surrounded by such great people. And now, ready for next steps (and the exam)!

Our new paper showing a dissociation between sensorimotor alpha and beta rhythms is out! The rhythms differ in their anatomical and functional properties, are weakly correlated, and travel along opposite directions.
