Basically, the dance became popular in the 1960s, was used by the crew, and from there, became the subheading of 1980s cult classic "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo." From there, a Reddit poster referred to "Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo," and was picked up by the far-right.

The first time I ever heard of this was a song "Boogaloo Down Broadway" a 1967 song By Fantastic Johnny C. it was the name of a dance style.
