Some folks have been asking what group this is. Based on the color and shape of the patches, this looks like the Michigan Liberty Militia. https://twitter.com/SenPolehanki/status/1255899318210314241 …pic.twitter.com/5NMOZ9LddO

A Michigan Liberty Militia member gave his name as "Phil Odinson" to various media outlets, but his real name is Phil Robinson. The obsession with Norse shit, like calling yourself "Odinson"? It's not always white supremacist, but let's just say it happens a *lot* of the time.pic.twitter.com/z3ZxhPuRwg
On Facebook he uses his real name, but also calls himself "The Heathen."pic.twitter.com/OwlnPHqooA
But what's this? Ope! It's a boogaloo meme he's posting, referencing the anti-government uprising/race war that many far-right activists cream their jeans thinking about.pic.twitter.com/gVp2q4uX6x
For more on the "boogaloo," see this great article by @BrandyZadrozny.https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/social-media/what-boogaloo-how-online-calls-violent-uprising-are-getting-organized-n1138461 …
Robinson is openly calling for violent insurrection against the government on his social media, and today, he shows up armed at the Michigan State House.pic.twitter.com/GjJd77HSX9
This appears to be a pattern for him, too. Here he is in January, calling for a violent overthrow of the government of Virginia, starting at the 2020 VCDL Lobby Day.pic.twitter.com/VeWjmVpku4
Robinson has a YouTube channel where he posts under the name "Mr 1776," and discusses "crisis actors" and "false flag attacks" trying to make 2nd-Amendment supporters look bad. So, uhhhhhhhhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2l41YfvwPY …
Interestingly, he openly disavows Nazis who claim Norse culture, but seems pretty comfortable in a far-right militia, even rallying with hate groups like the Proud Boys in Lansing two weeks ago. I'd be a little wary of believing that he's got anything to do with anti-racism.pic.twitter.com/Na2dscK2ng
In fact, there's a lot of violent neo-fascist groups who disavow neo-Nazis. The Proud Boys, for instance, even as they organize alongside them.https://itsgoingdown.org/our-friends-from-twp-proud-boys-march-with-neo-nazis-in-denver-community-mobilizes/ …
So I wouldn't actually put any stock in that post. But I bet that the media's still gonna give these dudes a pass because they're white, and look for any excuse to talk about them as "conservative protesters" rather than "armed gunmen."
(And if you're wondering about the difference between racist and non-racist neo-pagans is, I wrote a thing a while ago explaining it.)https://itsgoingdown.org/this-week-in-fascism-5-knockin-on-odins-door/ …
If you don't feel like reading the whole article, this is the difference in a nutshell.
So I can't say for sure that a far-right militia member dripping in Norse iconography is a racist, but I've never met one who wasn't.
