Our network has just confirmed a "Proud Boy" convention is underway at the cabins by Silver Creek Falls Convention Center. PBs from California, Washington, and Oregon are in attendance.

I think you're missing the irony/sarcasm.
It can be tempting to mock toxically masculine dudes with insinuations that they're gay (or feminine), since we know they hate it, but we should also resist this impulse.
It makes our LGBTQIA comrades feel unwelcome, and perpetuates the "homophobes are secretly gay" myth.

That's totally cool! It can be funny in one person's context, and unwelcoming in another person's, and both of these are valid individual responses. My point-- no need to risk alienating any comrades when we can just as easily mock Proud Boys for being losers.
