/ The FBI released two pages, both heavily redacted, out of 10 total pages on the Proud Boys. Couple of things to note for here.https://twitter.com/FBIRecordsVault/status/1232379744659750912 …

/ I'm not defending this practice, but it's something to keep this in mind when planning your security culture. If you suspect you are being surveilled, it may be prudent to increase security or even change operations for 4-6 months.

/ These redactions are parodic, but we can see that the investigation was initiated in December 18, 2017, by a specific field office. This comes a week after the December 2017 arrest of Proud Boy Tiny Toese at a Patriot Prayer event.pic.twitter.com/DQL7lIclUQ

/ As
@wweek notes, "Toese was the only person arrested at the protest," so it's hard to see what else might have precipitated this, if it originated from a field office rather than an analyst.https://www.wweek.com/news/courts/2017/12/10/right-wing-slugger-tiny-toese-arrested-again-while-trolling-portland/ …Afficher cette discussion -
/ So I guess congrats to Joey Gibson and Tiny Toese-- you managed to launch a federal investigation into the Proud Boys, lmao.

/ But this is *exactly* why we need antifascist researchers. The FBI had four months to investigate the Proud Boys in the months leading up to a summer of violent attacks throughout the Pacific Northwest, and all they came up with is 10 pages.

/ As I always say, the police won't protect us. Who protects us? We protect us.
