3/ There's a few things we should keep in mind when discussing Patriot Front. The first is that though they had ~120 members present yesterday, their national membership is only ~200 people. They flew guys in from all over the country for this.
4/ They spent a *ton* of money on plane tickets and van rentals-- even more when you consider most of their members are in the 18-25 range-- and for what? A few decent propaganda photos while they hide behind the cops?

Two years ago, when their Discord server was leaked by @UR_Ninja , they had 149 members.

6/ That's not a big leap. Part of the problem is that their leader, Thomas Rousseau, is a paranoid weirdo. His number one concern-- even above organizing-- is not getting his guys doxxed.

10/ Patriot Front manages a fair number of recruits, but they have trouble holding on to members. The guys get sick of doing nothing but flyering, not having social media or a social life, and don't want to just fly in a holding pattern.
11/ I'm doing this thread because I've seen some journalists (and I'm not naming names) fear-mongering over what, exactly, Patriot Front's DC march means, and handing an easy propaganda win to the far-right.
12/ Yes, Patriot Front is a threat to our communities, just as any white nationalist organization is. Yes, they should be countered, and bless the activists who came out yesterday to oppose and surveil Patriot Front as they marched, protected by rows of DC cops.
13/ But let's not spread any unnecessary fear in our communities. Patriot Front spent a ton of money on plane tickets and van rentals to sleep outside at the coldest time of the year in the Pocahontas National Park. All to cower behind the police for a few hours in DC.
14/ Far-right organizing should be opposed.
But don't spread fear. There's a fine line between warning a community and scaring them.
