Anonymous law enforcement sources are telling @nate_thayer that The Base leader "Norman Spear," real name Rinaldo Nazzaro, is a Russian intelligence asset.

I'm not sure what "intelligence asset" means in this context-- is he working directly for Russian intelligence? that they've had contact with him? is Nazzaro just making it up, like he's done before, and it got filtered down to a dossier somewhere?-- but it's worth reading.
(And even if this does turn out to be true-- and it may be! Nazzaro has documented ties to Russia, if not yet Russian intelligence assets-- please don't believe for a second that Russia is behind the white nationalist movement globally. We've got plenty of homegrown baddies.)
(Like, Nazzaro could very well be a Russian asset, but that could also be one of their only ties to to the American white nationalist movement. Please stop blaming everything on Russia! That analysis lets a very racist and also very American political context off the hook.)
