As far as I can tell he's disowned the remarkably bad stuff he said 20 years ago. Has he said anything questionable since? I suppose. But on a serious note, if the left is to see success electorally we need to get money out of politics. And that's the thing Cenk is running on(1)

1) I have no problem with criticism of religion in this context 2) he rightly stopped doing it 3) it is unclear to me what point exactly he was making. Is this it for the last 18 years? This does not do nearly enough to outweigh the benefits of his progressive advocacy
