Can we please stop it with this? He didn't "give" them anything. They had a right to march. Should he have spent more $ on a hopeless court challenge first? Then would you be OK with the $ spent on police details? Get mad at police violence, not at the march. It's a distraction.
I can be mad at both things, buddy. And when governments capitulate to hate groups with known histories of violence, then they're worse than useless-- they're collaborators.

Of course you can be mad at them getting a permit to march. It's just wasted & a distraction. I don't see how issuing a permit that they're legally entitled to (which the city would be forced to issue by the courts) is "capitulation."
