2/ For background, Iron March was a neo-Nazi message board that gave birth to the Atomwaffen Division, a Siegepilled group linked to eight murders in the US. More background on the forum here.https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2019/02/15/visions-chaos-weighing-violent-legacy-iron-march …

3/ In early November, a user using the handle "antifa-data" posted the Iron March logs on Archive[.]org. It wasn't just the board posts, it was the entire SQL data set, also containing private messages, IP addresses, and the emails users signed up with.https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/nov/07/neo-nazi-site-iron-march-materials-leak …

4/ The leaks also contained CSV files of the various documents in the SQL database. The data looked like this, with userID numbers paired with messages, and in a separate file, those userID numbers paired with online handles and the email used to sign up.pic.twitter.com/r2WCcUX3aq

5/ It was absolutely fantastic data, but hard to use. You could make your own SQL server for the data, but that requires a technical background a lot of people don't have. You could search the spreadsheets, but you'd have to manually assemble the order of any messages.

6/
@JewishWorker changed that by creating https://ironmarch.exposed/ . It's a fully searchable archive of the data. Let's try searching a user.Show this thread -
7/ A search for "Odin" brings up a list of users. I've crossed out the emails in this screenshot so as not to violate Twitter's "Private Information" policy.pic.twitter.com/iuUgyX1y1j

8/ Clicking on a username will bring you that user's profile, the email they used to register the account, and not just the IP address with which they registered, but every IP address from which they subsequently sent messages.pic.twitter.com/O1EAhraAzJ

9/ You also get a complete list of private messages sent from each account.pic.twitter.com/M4VgiiPoX7

10/ The user "Odin" is Brandon Russell, currently serving five years for possession of bomb-making materials. He was planning to blow up "nuclear reactors and synagogues," according to his ex-roommate, Devon Arthurs.

11/ https://ironmarch.exposed/ is an absolutely amazing resource for journalists and researchers looking to understand the spread of neo-Nazi accelerationism, and unmask the people who would threaten our communities.

12/ This took an incredible amount of effort. And
@JewishWorker has been put through hell for it. As soon as they posted the link, far-right groups like the Proud Boys mass reported their account, getting them banned.pic.twitter.com/EmpoiM8jWi

13/
@JewishWorker filed appeal after appeal with Twitter, getting denied four times before a pressure campaign from activists brought back their account. Kudos to everyone who showed solidarity and participated in that.Show this thread -
14/ As an independent media outlet, social media is absolutely critical for
@JewishWorker to attract readers. So not only did they work for free on https://ironmarch.exposed/ , but their access to their readers was threatened by a mass reporting campaign from the far-right.Show this thread -
15/ They wrote about the experience here. https://jewishworker.org/joel-griffith-nazi-abettor/ …

16/ If you can, please donate to keep them going. They've created an absolutely incredible resource to help us protect our communities, and been put through hell for it. (And if you can't donate, please share this and ask others to!)
