When we say things like "dating in activism is a shit show" but don't talk about *why* it's a shit show-- because of toxic power dynamics (usually male) and entitled organizers-- it feels like a equivocation.
And (I think) that's part of what @coldbrewedtool's zine is about.

Im not dumping on the zine. It's probably pretty good. I'm just saying I go about dating a different way. If your expectation is that 1 small social circle is going to be your only option for dating, then you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Also, back up a step: If we're going to treat organizing spaces as dating scenes in the first place, that's something that all members need to consent to, and that's not what's happening. Organizing spaces are not automatically dating spaces just because dudes are horny.

Also, activism stresses reaching out to your community. Why are people not getting out there? There are plenty of places to meet potential dates. Dog parks, gyms, meetup groups, cafes, art shows...
