If a researcher who covers the far-right is being impersonated, doesn’t it make sense to give her a single verified profile, so anything not from that profile can be assumed to be an impersonation? I’m not sure what’s hard to understand about that.
1.) Yes, that the verification system was literally created to clear up issues of impersonation.
2.) That when @RadishHarmers saw a hate group harassing and impersonating a researcher online, his first thought was to mock the researcher for wanting a solution.

I can see #2, but thinking verification is a solution to violent trolls still seems odd to me. Verification hasn’t even stopped people who impersonate for fraudulent purposes, how is it supposed to stop people who impersonate to harass?
