The guard’s name is Thomas Woodworth, of Pawcatuck, Connecticut.
He drove his personal vehicle, a 2012 Chevy Silverado, through a crowd of protesters.
Solidarity with all the protesters.
My research on Woodworth starts tomorrow.

This isn’t an isolated incident of violence. In 2005, Woodworth had an excessive force complaint filed against him by an inmate. The suit was dismissed for procedural reasons, but the factual allegations don’t appear to have been contested. https://ecf.ctd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/show_public_doc?2007cv0148-80 …

This is also a reminder that, right after Charlottesville, some Republican controlled states wanted to pass laws making it *legal* to run over protestors if they so much as block traffic. It was just as much meant to target Liberal protests as Stand Your Ground is to target PoC.
-
Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but mass murder does not seem like an equivalent punishment for blocking peoples ability to use ONE ROAD. Use a detour if you have to get where you are going that urgently.

Wyatt Detention Center was the first private prison in the US. It is run both by the town & privately. FOP represents the COs. That’s why they aren’t pursuing charges

-
FOP??? COs??? Please define. Not everyone is local or fully schooled on various acronyms.

When does an eye for an eye become a acceptable response to fascist violence?
-
I would say ‘never’ but that is with caveats. The best thing to do is expose wrongdoing—but if the flow of information is impeded and criminalized, then “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”

This is actually nothing new. The "Blue Code" means that cops prioritize protecting their own, over any actual duty to their job or the citizens who pay their salaries. It's been like this in the US for decades. Power Corrupts. Police Power Corrupts Absolutely.
