2/ What happened in Dayton was a tragedy. Nine innocent people lost their lives because one man gave in to the violent fantasies of toxic masculinity. The far-right is trying to claim that he was radicalized by antifascists.

3/ The irony of the charge is that if this young man had been attached to the left in any significant way, we would have warned him that toxic masculinity— the kind that so often produces mass shootings— is absolutely anathema to leftists.

4/ We mourn for the people of El Paso and the people of Dayton. One thing we can do is watch the red flags in our own communities. Toxic masculinity is a massive driver of mass shootings. Feminism can help. We need to teach our young men better.

5/ If there are young men in your lives displaying violent rhetoric, don’t ignore it. As leftists, we owe it to our communities not to let “boys be boys.” Intervene. Practice community accountability.

Honestly I feel Dayton wasn't political. This dude's sister (that he lived with) was in the bar. He made sure he killed her. I feel like it was a personal thing, but we shall see as we get more info.

The politics is in the fact that he had easy access to a gun.
