I'm trying to find the story about it, but a similar incident (attempted arson of an Anarchist bookstore on Haight Street) was a key moment in how the Hells Angels chased the Nazis out of the SF Bay Area. After that they moved deeper into the PNW.

Might be down the memory hole, can't even find a reference to the exact year the arson happened. It was Bound Together books tho.
