2/ We can look back to 1952's "High Noon" as an example of something that involves some of the same themes? Will Kane attempts to organize a community into standing up to the Miller Gang, and is helped by his Quaker wife, who sees the failure of her pacifism.
3/ Or "Captain America: Winter Soldier," which sees Steve Rogers fighting both Hydra agents and the US government. Neither is really what I'd consider a perfect example, but you can see similar themes?

4/ Or check out "Rogue One," where a small group of rebels directly opposes the Alliance Council-- which wants to appease the Empire, not fight them directly-- to steal the Death Star plans and prevent a weapon of genocide.

5/ And it's probably not an accident that the Alliance Council is a bunch of white people-- plus Jimmy Smits!-- and the heroes of "Rogue One" are largely POC.
