2/ This is what the concept of "white innocence" gets us. Mainstream media outlets are bending over backwards to say that white people aren't racist, even when they act like racists, and there's demonstrable evidence to that effect. White people are not innocent.
3/ *All* white people are racist. (And yes, this includes me.) White people are born in a culture of white supremacy, and conditioned to act like white supremacists. If you're white, what matters is how you resist that conditioning.
4/ If we buy into the myth of white innocence-- that white people are inherently not racist-- then the media, like @NBCDFW, is going to keep getting played by cheap white nationalist hucksters like Joseph Kane.

5/ Don't fall for that bullshit. *All* white people are racist. Racism isn't just the organized groups that I post about. It's the everyday microaggressions that people of color face, even from white people who think they're not racist.
6/ If you're white you even think you're a decent person, it's your job to struggle against your conditioning.
The work I do as an anti-fascist means nothing if we don't also smash more subtle forms of racism, like "white innocence."
