Basically, here's why we don't work with the police: When you call the police, you're legitimizing the work they do of enforcing white supremacy. It doesn't matter if you're calling them on white people. It still bolsters their legitimacy as agents of state violence.

Yes, the Proud Boys are a threat to our communities. But by far, the police are a much bigger threat. And if we use the police to fight Proud Boys, we're just legitimizing the violence the cops perpetrate against communities of color. Does that make sense?

I wouldn't call the police for anything. We handle things as a community. And white supremacy doesn't require active participation, just complicity. That's how it persists. And as enforcers of that system, your family members very much "did white supremacy."
