Just FYI, this is what I responding to: https://twitter.com/IGD_News/status/1052738358575816705 … We should be fighting on all fronts. But also, liberal orgs like the
@SPLCenter need to be accountable to the street-level people whose work they rely on. When they disown us and steal from us, that's bullshit.AntiFash Gordon added,

Respectfully disagree. Even big orgs have to pick and choose their battles. And, though a dose of realpolitik probably is not what you want to hear, this is a knock-on effect of anarchists being black pilled on the political process. These people respect voting blocs. They ain't.

uhhhhhhhhhh is this a hot take in support of plagiarism?

Absolutely not. Morally, ideologically, you're in the right of course. I'm trying to describe why this happens despite that.

It costs $0.00 to cite NoCARA's work. The SPLC explicitly disavows the street work that groups like NoCARA engage in, but then steals their work as it suits them. This isn't a case of a big org picking and choosing battles. They're just trying to erase street-level activists.

It does cost them money to cite NoCARA. If they were to embrace groups like them, their donors would start falling off. Antifascists are seen as overwhelmingly anarchist. And anarchists are understood to not vote or participate politically, outside of direct action.

What I am trying to say is that the liberal orgs you are trying to hold to account, only see themselves accountable to those who play within the political process. If one is perceived as strenuously abstaining from it, how can one expect anything other than this reaction to them?

I guarantee that footnotes don't cost any money. You're trying to excuse an organization that got caught plagiarizing. That shit would get a college sophomore booted, and you're acting like it's the end of the world that someone would criticize them for stealing from NoCARA.
