Ultimately, the Mets traded prospects Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods-Richardson for 11 starts from Marcus Stroman. (The Mets could potentially still receive more value from Stroman if they extend him a qualifying offer this winter.)

In the shorter-term, this all but guarantees David Peterson a rotation spot for the rest of this season, provided he continues to pitch well. The Mets could look for pitching outside the organization. Their depth beyond Peterson is quite untested/unproven at the MLB level.
