    We are going to need a large-scale effort to upskill/reskill the long-term unemployed for a post-pandemic economy. At the moment, there are shockingly few resources for workers who need to reinvent themselves.

    This is correct and wise. One area where the Democrats' moderate and left wings ought to find common ground is in rebuilding organized labor. Doing so should also expand reach to Republican voters, since about one-third of union members vote Republican.
