It is a viable story (if you google it vetted sources reporting). The person must have linked it wrong but you make a good point that we should all check our stories.

Yeah, Reuters has one of the highest levels of reputation... To the point that 90% of TV News media will reference more than three of their stories a day. This is just bad copypasta, probably meant to do a coronavirus update.

The part I wanted to read and confirm: Earlier this week authorities in India started culling chickens and destroying eggs to contain the bird flu virus. And a different strain - the H5N8 virus - has spread throughout eastern Europe in recent weeks.
