This is just a malicious attempt to get someone killed, so that can combine his hatred of the intelligence community with a nice opportunity to suck up to Donald Trump.

For everyone freaking out over the scant outfits worn by J Lo and Shakira last night: here is how cheerleaders dress, I'm sorry you've never seen them before.

., You've let down your country. I worked loyally for you for 15 years. Yes, the Senate was never going to convict, but you had the opportunity to provide them with the info so they could make a fully informed decision. Guess it was about book sales after all.

the entire point of voting is that it's a right...not a privilege from only college-educated folks, or people with money, or people from the east or west coast..it is for ALL OF US; rich, poor, middle class, college-education, no diploma at all. THIS IS THE USA, Ben

the reconstruction south, one of this country’s great experiments in democratic governance, was powered by countless poor, illiterate men and women. you don’t need a formal education to be a good democratic citizen.

many of the 76 men who wrote the south carolina constitution of 1868 had just been emancipated from slavery a few years earlier. some were barely literate. the constitution they wrote guaranteed public education, abolished race discrimination, and gave rights to women.

We have done this before as a nation. How could anything go wrong? Here's a test administered to black voters in Louisiana in 1964. Had to score 100% or they couldn't vote. The GOP is determined to revive so many of this country's worst moments.

Yes, , the media made Trump engage in attempted extortion and obstruction, and then then you had to vote to acquit because journalists wouldn't stop reporting on stuff. You hear that a lot in places like Turkey and Russia, too. It's a global problem, really.

Trump voters in 2016 said they wanted *respect*. For three years they celebrated a moral trash fire of a human being - and cannot understand why they are still not respected. If Trump wins in 2020, they'll be even more furious... because they know that respect is never coming. /1

“What will make people understand we’re just law-abiding citizens exercising our rights?” “How about we show up at the state house with masks and AKs and look like we’re staging a coup?”

If you’re willing to tolerate corruption, cruelty, or deception as the price of securing your preferred policies, you’ve already thrown our republic under the bus, even if you don’t realize it.

Zooky stopped making noises when she lost her hearing. When she sleeps, though, she sometimes yaps and whines, and I can picture her dreams: chasing squirrels and protecting the family from people on bicycles.

“We have become morally ill because we are used to saying one thing and thinking another,”. First post-Cold War Czech president, Vaclav Havel, on his country’s life under authoritarian rule. Kept thinking of that, reading various Senatorial statements on their vote today.

Not only is it weak-ass excusemaking from people who should rise above it, it is inexcusable weakness from people who were eager to take on positions of power and trust but unwilling to make the sacrifices necessary to execute the responsibilities of those positions. Cowards.

To summarize: There are multiple jurors who believe the defendant is guilty as charged but disapprove of the sentence that awaits him so they’re voting to acquit the defendant who they believe is guilty as charged.
