@NotMyFngProblem This is what we are dealing with.https://twitter.com/AnnaRowe123/status/946772164518338560 …
Don’t get me wrong, that teacher needs removing. I’m not sure why he hasn’t.But those cases are few and far between compared to the misconduct of solicitors.Stats prove that. Public don’t trust for good reason-52% against 85%. I have lawyer friends agree SRA are failing profession

But I don't see it as a comparison: who has more cases of abusers and what type? That doesn't matter at all. What matters is the fact that all these perpetrators have to be charged in a criminal Court and their regulatory bodies can't help with that.
-
Unfortunately we’re back to lack of funding for police and antiquated legislation inhibiting what work they do, do. Pressure of statistics mean CPS only want to prosecute gold plated cases to number crunch against historic case law for majority. It’s a bloody mess.

The public doesn't trust lawyers because of lack of education into what it means to be a lawyer and why it costs a fortune to get a good one. Media has a lot to do with the distrust in profession as well. SRA might be failing in certain aspects, but these differ for every person

The problem is that you can't allow complete banishing from a profession because the person has upset an ex - 4 whatever reasons. I wouldn't want to lose your job due to a disgruntled ex bf, would u? It's hard to introduce this kind of control over someone's life.

I lost my job for going public with my petition to help people. That’s how invasive the education system is on private life. That invasion includes being aware of posting pictures of nights out on SM where some may deem behaviour/dress inappropriate.I’ve seen it happen to others

This is why I say that SRA can't do much, even if certain rules are changed. The best route is to prove that he broke the law and that it is a criminal offence - this will get him banned too...

I’ve been told by lawyers I’m working with and others that this case really should be prosecuted. It would be a landmark case as never attempted before for this behaviour but really legislation covers it with consent issues. Guidelines need to be stronger since 2003 update on act
