@Barclays why the hell are you pushing for customers to make non-essential trips to your branches? My son can easily scan ID for you and his student finance account until lockdown is lifted. #disgrace #StayHomeSaveLives @RosieDuffield1

Hi Anna. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We would advise to avoid branch visits if at all possible so if it's something that is not urgent, we'd ask if your son could possibly wait a while. I'm assuming he wants to open a student account. Is that right? Andy.
Yes applied online 28/3 as he needs to get account sorted and was told to come into branch on 31st. As online was available we assumed this would be ‘completed online or over phone’ until lockdown is over. ID can be scanned until this happens??

I can appreciate where you're coming from, Anna. However we'd advise him to re-apply once all of this is over so he can visit the branch to get the account opened. Kevin

Pretty useless given the situation we are all in Kevin. They need need to be able to give bank details when applying for accommodation etc.
