I don’t mean to sound rude but why would you assume is needs to be ‘spoken’? When something is set in writing it’s far more concrete than spoken word and often holds more detail.

Where has that come from though? Because that isn't what he said. He said if you can't do your job from home. What if that means your manager won't let you? If you work for a company that isn't essential retail, then what? It was so ambiguous.
