We don't call a female lawyer "lawyeress," or a female author "authoress." At least not any more. Acting is acting, no need to genderize it.

I like having the ‘ess’ on the ends of words. It adds the feminine element and it’s good to be different. I think it makes us stand out. I would never call a female lion a lion, she’s a lioness. In Hindi they have both versions still but lawyer is only 1 word there too.
