I was involved with a man I met online for almost a year. I discovered his name and identity were fake and that he was a lawyer. The law needs to change.

Should Jacob Rees-Mogg resign over comments he made about the Grenfell Tower disaster? He's apologised for saying victims should have used their common sense and escaped but opponents have rounded on the Tories, saying it's typical of them- looking down on the poor. Thoughts?pic.twitter.com/yDMnjPELDk

That isn’t what he said though.

It’s what he was implying tho... and his colleagues comment backing him up was even even worse.

His colleagues comment absolutely worse. 233 people survived by leaving the building. Many before being rescued by the fire service. Their decisions to get out were against advice. Were they stupid or using instinct/Common sense? His prefix put the context in which he said it.

Some may have decided to leave against advise (which the fire brigade gave as is policy) but by saying this is also implying that those that didn’t leave and followed advice ‘didn’t have common sense’. You can’t have it both ways.

Not what I said. No one knows what they would do until they are faced with making that decision. As JRM said, with hindsight, you can.

So why are you defending his comment?
