In a legal first in the U.K. ‘The prosecutor convinced the jury that sex obtained through deception is not true consent.’: https://reason.com/2019/09/25/u-k-trial-court-lying-about-vasectomy-negates-consent-to-sex/ … @HWistrich @bindelj are we getting there

Marriage by itself has been seen as not effective to vitiate consent, the same goes for deception about wealth. But a judge has stated that all else should be looked at with a broad common sense approach. Issue surrounds lack of guidelines so ‘new’ behaviours r not being tested.

It’s true but there are things that are minimal for example age and height or weight. These are not going to harm anyone in the long run and can be visually ‘seen’ by the other party before any intimate behaviour happens. Maybe called ‘passive lies’

Replying to @AnnaRowe123 @JJMLondon and
Active lying would be harder to ascertain as they are hidden.

Age isn’t necessarily as easy as we think to know unless it’s a huge gap but still is a shallow one to use as negate consent.
